It was a great day out there for marathon number 3. I planned to run with Michelle and Jenny the entire way and did just that. The weather was cool and foggy and perfect for running. Michelle stayed strong the entire day and my legs felt good. Almost fresh, if I dare say it. It made for a pleasurable run with friends.
The highlights of the race were on the out and backs where we were able to see all of the other Maniacs and friends and were able to cheer each other on. Also, Jenny and I ran into Starbucks around mile 18 and got egg nog lattes for us and a soy chai for Michelle. The volunteers got a kick out of us running by with the cups in hand as we were trying to catch back up with Michelle. We all dumped them into our bottles and enjoyed them as we ran.
The conversation kept us going the second half and I was able to get about 12 oz. of beer around mile 22 and then Krispy Kreme not too far afterward. The finish was a welcome sight and it felt good to be done. By all accounts the triple was a success. I ran hard the first two days and enjoyed day three with friends. On to the next adventure...

Great job completing the triple. Rest up.
We did it! Thank you for running with Michelle for the third and final weekend marathon. As I've said so many times before. You can't do this crazy stuff by yourself. If you did it certainly wouldn't be as much fun!
The beer and latte thing is sounding more like golf or bowling, not running a marathon. There you go pushing the limits again!
Mad Monkey #2
You were able to drink both coffee and beer during your run and not poop yourself!? Holy cats, that's a bigger accomplishment than three marathons in 3 days!
That was quite the marathon fueling plan but it appears to have worked. Congrats on the triple!
Robbie, you guys did good. Happy for you all.
You rocked the triple! Now be sure to recover. :-)
Rob,
Thanks again for a great day yesterday! The soy chai tasted better than ever before, and the company was fabulous. I look forward to that next adventure, whatever it may be!
The best part of running three in a row is you don't really have to care about the time in the third one. It's just for grins, the latte, the beer and friends.
Now that's marathonning.
You make my 8-miler yesterday sound so petty. Glad you survived so well after three marathons in three days. Ensure one day, beer and doughnuts the next...that's some diet plan!
dude, I can't believe you didn't fly to atlanta to get in a quad! =) BUT, you're the only person I know that can run satisfied on a Krispy Kreme dunked in beer. ;-)
Nice job on the triple, and a wonderful weekend with friends!
Starbucks and the krispie creme were perfection...I'll pass on the beer, but I am glad you got it! IT was a great day and I know we'll have many more adventures.
Jenny
Great job on all three runs, dude. The beer and Krispy Kreme combination doesn't sound very good, though.
There was never any doubt that you'd finish, was there?
yay for success!!!
I always thought the beer and Krispy Kreme should wait until after you've crossed the line, but apparently you're doing things differently over there.
Congratulations, no mean feat!
Awesome, Rob. I'm really impressed.
And the running was pretty good too.
Krispy Kreme and beer and coffee...that's really an iron stomach!!
Enjoy your week back at school...what a great weekend you had!
I just got to check your blog and I was excited to read about the triple! What a great way to spend Thanksgiving - with people you love doing something you love. Keep it up!
Beer. Latte. Kirspy Kream.
And I thought it was the running you love...
Enjoyed reading about your triple.
Congrats Rob, you definitely deserved extra turkey and stuffing.
Coffee, beer and Krispie Kreme. Dude, your gut is more determined than your legs, I swear.
Good on ya! Or perhaps, better said, "Cheers!!"
You must have an iron stomach! I couldn't even do one of those things during a run, let alone all three! Yikes!
